wtb: Ibanez Velve Tune B ii bass tuning key or parts.

A long shot it seems, dig down to the bottom or your parts box!

These were common on early '80s Ibanez Roadstar II basses, it appears that the ring gear has worn/'cupped' on my D tuner (2 x 2 style) to the point where it slips against the worm gear.  The shaft is also broken, but it holds together fine with the ring gear set-screw.  Just a good ring gear would get me by. Ring gear is 8mm wide, 5mm thick.

The replacement problem is that the hole in the headstock is 17mm, which is a very odd size nowadays, so it seems.  I may end up doweling the holes, I have some 11/16 dowel that is pretty much a perfect fit. Then drilling to 14mm for Gotoh 707s, which seems like a pretty good solution, and would be reversible, - not that this bass is highly collectible, but it is a bit collectible (RB924). Then I'd have new tuners instead of time-bomb tuners that might fail at any moment, - I'm not the only one who's experienced failure with one of these.
