doody Posted July 20, 2007 Author Posted July 20, 2007 Well, I found the little bastard. Well, not so little. Bastard was almost as big as a pigeon. Hanging behind the blinds in the guest room. We get 2 kinds of bats around here. Little black guys, and their bigger brown cousins. This was one of the later. Having a pest guy come in this afternoon to check out the attic so I don't have to do this again.

doody Posted July 20, 2007 Author Posted July 20, 2007 Well got the good news bad news from the pest control guy. I trust him. He's the guy we use at work. He inspected the attic and said there is definite signs of activity up there, but found no bats. He put up some scent/sticky traps around the likely entrances/exits and told me to check them in a week and see whats there. he said if there is an active infestation, the sticky traps will get a few. He gave me the name of a contractor who does bat "exclusions" if I do find any on the traps. The one I "neutralized" was a mature adult.(I saved it for him) and he said the scat in the attic may well be just from him. Not loads of it apparently.That said, I did duct tape up the attic door(directly across the hall from my bedroom). I have a feeling I'll be sleeping with my bedroom door closed for a while. Probably with the lights on too. Probably going to call the "exclusions" guy on monday in any case. That or just burn this damn house down.
