Not looking to hijack your thread, but I've got a '57 that has the same logo + diamond inlay shrinkage as yours. I am interested to know what causes that.

Not sure - some sort of relic'ing process I'm sure. BTW I'm honored to have the guy who penned "the look" reply to my thread.

Ha! I can't take full credit for "The Look". While I certainly did my part to elevate it, I got the idea from something that somebody else had posted, lol.

As for the logo shrinkage.... Mine is not a relic at all. I've seen it on other Gibson's, and have always wondered what caused it.
