guitarzandstuff Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I have a Splawn Quickrod 100w head with 2 speaker outs, switchable between 4,8,16 ohms. I have 2 Marshall JCM 900 Cabs switchable between 4 and 16 ohms.I'd like to buy a THD Hotplate... Which version do I buy and what is the best config for this? Also, if I decide to use 1 cab, what do I need to do?Thanks so much!!Frank
MCChris Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Look into a Weber attenuator. You can switch the ohm load on those.

The problem with going the THD route is that is you're gonna need a few of 'em to keep your options open. Running both cabs on 16 ohms will yield an 8 ohm load. Running one at a time will be either 4 or 16. The upside is you can color coordinate your attenuator with your outfit.

It doesn't make sense to buy two THD's. Perhaps look into the BAD CAT Leash??Here's a link to Music Toyz. I'm not suggesting to buy it there, or not buy it there. I was just looking for some info.Music toyz - Bad CAT leash
