jimlp Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 This is a Czech made dean EVO LP style guitar. The guitar features a mahogany body and mahogany set neck with a beautiful ebony board with MOP block inlays. The neck has great upper fret access due to the unique neck joint/cutaway. The maple top has beautiful flame on it and it is a real top not a photo flame or a laminate. Stock pickups are a Duncan Pearly Gates set, the pickups are connected to a single volume/single tone configuration with a coil split on each pot. LP style TOM bridge/tail piece setup, tuners are German made Schallers, the bridge and tailpiece are made by Schaller as well. All hardware is gold. Weight feels in the 9.5 pound range but I am not good at guessing that sort of stuff. The guitar is very, very clean, a very small ding on 1 side as well as some minor bubbling under the gold finish on the tail piece. Dean made these guitars from 1998-2002 and discontinued them when they introduced the TC series. The factory that made them was rumored to have been a violin style instrument factory in the Czech Republic and that there was a fair amount of personal hands on attention during manufacturing, it seems possible as the necks on similar models seem to have slightly different profiles which lead me to believe that they may have been hand sanded. These guitars were very well made and rival Japanese made guitars for build quality, Epiphone LP's don't even come close. This is a great chance to get a great guitar at a great price, there is a Gator hardshell case included but shown in the pictures. I am looking to get $550.00 shipped, PayPal only. I am new here but have great feedback on ebay as jimphoto67 as well as good deals on other forums. Mods if you feel that this ad should not be allowed as I have less than 10 posts feel free to delete at your discretion. I figured you guys/gals know a great guitar when you see one!
Brewmaster Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Tons of LP tone for not a lot of $$$. I still insist dean stopped making these because they were so well made and a much better value than their USA made line.
