Guest Quilt Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I just got an import sunburst quilt top. I can't figure out the 3 positions on the toggle. Position 1 is obvious (neck pu only). Position 3 is obvious (bridge pu only). But position 2 seems strange. If either pu's volume put is 0, the output is 0 and it does not matter what the other volume pot is set at. At any setting other than 0 then seem to blend which would seem correct. Is this right? Is it a feature just so you can silence the whole thing in position 2 by turning either volume pot to zero? tomteriffic Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 That's the standard Hamer control configuration. It allows a HUGE variety of tones in that middle switch position. When playing live, I usually don't even futz with the switch, just twist knobs. Other than keeping them cracked open a hair, it's an extremely versatile setup, even moreso with the Hamer USA's which have custom-taper pots.
