wilkenm Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 The girlfriend says I'm taking up too much room, so the herd needs to be thinned. And since I just placed an order with BCR Greg, I better get rid of something quickly! I've owned it since new, purchased from Carvin in 2004 (maybe 2003). It was one of the first CT series guitars available on their 'In Stock' page. 2 piece mahogany body w/ maple cap. Pretty slim neck; not as thin as Carvin's more shredder oriented models, but noticeably thinner than any other guitar I own (mainly Hamers). Ebony fretboard, push-pull tone control for coil splitting. I'm guessing weight is around 8 lbs. It's too light to register on my bathroom scale, and too heavy to weigh on my kitchen scale. More info from the website: https://www.carvinguitars.com/catalog/guita...x.php?model=ct4 And the pics: More pics: http://mikewilken.com/images/carvin/pics.html Never gigged, always lived in a non-smoking house, and completely stock. There are one or two light pick scratches that wouldn't show up in pictures. You can only see them if held at 'just the right angle' in direct light. The marks in the above pictures are just smudges. Otherwise, it's fairly mint, at least 9 out of 10. Black hardshell case in good shape... some sticker residue, and a light scratch or two. Price: $750, or best offer + actual shipping. Not really interested in trades... maybe a cheap, small tube amp (Valve Jr. or similar + cash, Egnater Rebel, etc). References.. eBay id is fastwilkenm. I rarely sell anything, but I've bought a Earthen Maple from elduave and Kornia Jr from NickHolden on here.
edgar_allan_poe Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I was critical of these when they first came out. I was at their debut at NAMM and was really disappointed. They were touted as PRS killers and I just didn't see it. That being said, this is a KILLER deal. $750 is a sweet price for a guitar of this caliber. This is a great guitar at this price and you would be hard pressed to find better in this range.Good luck with the sale bro...someone will be a very happy camper.
