Pickups and toggle switch advice..NHC

Dear Abby...

I have a F*nder JagStang that I like very much. I want to "Tele"-size it and set it up this way..Please tell me if I can do this..

The JS has a slant humbucker in the bridge and a Str@t single coil in the neck. The pickups are wired to 2(two) sliding switches a la the Mustang. What I'd like to do is add a P-90 (maybe a Jazzmaster-style) single coil to the bridge and a Tele pickup to the neck. I would like to then add a 3 way toggle to the pickguard near the botom cutaway..I know adding the JM pickup would require some routing as I wouldnt want it to be slanted..the wiring would completely bypass the 2 switches to the 3 way toggle..

does this sound dumb? I really like the guitar in everything but the pickups are too...*ahem* grungy..( I know...I know..bad...)

thoughts?comments?

There's absolutely no reason why you couldn't do this.

A new pickguard would make things look nicer too.

Just remember that P90s and Jazzmaster pickups are two different beasts. Depending on what you're looking for, either would be interesting, but the Jazzmaster pickups are kind of an acquired taste.
