Hamerhack Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Speaking of missing fingers, how about finger extensions?Years ago (okay, decades ago) sometime in the 80's, I guess...I went to see some configuration of Yes (Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman & Howe or something).Anyhoo, at some point in the show the bass player did a call and response thing with the drummer. The bass player had long extension thingies on his fingers, so he could tap the strings with them.It was cool.Anybody recall that, or know what those extensions were? (They looked like bamboo or something).
Bjørn M Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Could have been Tony Levin with his Funk Fingers: AFAIK the idea was spawned by Peter Gabriel, who had Tony tape drum sticks to his fingers (for "Big Time" on "So") http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funk_fingers And he toured with ABW&H and recorded 2 Yes albums without being a member of the band.
atquinn Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Funk fingers are what I thought of too. I might still have the set I bought years ago hanging around if someone's interested. I'll have to look for them tonight.-Austin
Hamerhack Posted December 16, 2009 Author Posted December 16, 2009 Thanks!I guess it was Tony Levin... I think the guy was bald.
