Special in Hollywood-- nothing special?

No offense but I doubt anyone here is interested in a Special at that price, but I just thought I'd mention it just in case-- for one thing, it's only the second time I've ever seen a Hamer hanging on the wall, (not counting the fairly beat up Steve Stevens in the pawn shop).

The tag says "Used", but I would never have known otherwise. It's a "Special", alot like that Gibson whatsitcalled, "Junior"?, in the same kind of color, darkish oxblood mahogany red. Two P-90's. No top.

Plays real nice, sounds good through a Fender on clean.

It's in the Sam Ash across from Guitar Center, (not the SA near fairfax).

It sucks here in LA for Hamers. This is what we are down to, listing very overpriced used guitars just because there aren't in in Los Angeles. I had to drive to San Diego 150 miles south to find a stock of Hamer USA guitars. Hamer has to do something about this. We are in one of the entertainment capitals of the world and there aren't any Hamers. What's do you guys think the problem is?

Hey straightblues,

I feel 'ya, dude. We can find Hamer USA guitars here in northern California. I haven't gone guitar shopping lately at any of the Hamer dealers though. I've bought all of my Hamers from either E-bay auctions or from an internet guitar shop. Mine are used so hopefully Joel Dantzig will increase Hamer's presence in any of the local L.A. guitar shops in southern California. Hamer USA guitars are equal to the Suhrs, Anderson, Tylers, etc. being sold by the botique guitar shops.

Any pictures of it or a website link? Inquiring Hamer minds want to know. :D

I doubt it, but if there were, I wouldn't know. I only saw it there cuz I was down there applying for a job, and natch the subject came up. Funny-- the boss was standing right next to it when the word Hamer came up.

Anyway, check Sam Ash website; email and ask-- sure they'd oblidge.

I'd help out next time was down there, but don't have a digi-camera in 1st place, sorry.

I'd be happiest if Hamer just keeps on building guitars one at a time (so to speak), keeping the high quality workmanship, and keeping them all right in the eastern US so I'll have better access to them! -Bob-
