  1. I'm not on Facebook. How much is it going for? Any more details about the guitar? More pictures? Looks great from the few pictures of it.
  2. I bought this 1993 Hamer Special with Mojotone Hot Quiet Coil P-90 pickups. Thank you to the seller for selling me this guitar!
  3. I love that website! If Andrew needs any financial contributions to get his website up & running. I'd be happy to give him a donation.
  4. My AC/DC tribute band, Long Gon Bon, from San Jose, CA. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHiHk6kw0obheUujBqKXWHldRCu1s4iW5
  5. My current Hamer guitar collection. The 1990 Chaparral Elite 90 & 1994 Diablo II are great guitars for me from Hamer USA.
  6. That Lester Axcess volume knob looks like a clear plastic volume knob with a rubber ring used for plumbing wrapped around the volume knob. Anyone can go to Home Depot or Lowe's, buy some a couple of rubber plumbing washer rings, and slide it over their volume knobs.
  7. I had those knobs with the rubber strip on my 1981 Ibanez Destroyer II guitar. I'm glad to see that someone is making them again, but the downside to having them is that if you rotate the volume knob a lot, the rubber strip gets stretched out like a belt on a car motor, starts to get loose, then after it becomes loose, it just flops around on the volume knob hanging on, then it gets entangled underneath your volume knob/volume pot. It becomes a nuisance after that. Ask me how I know. You can always wrap around a small rubber band on your volume knob if you want that fast grip when your hands are sweaty onstage. It's easier to replace and cheap to do.
  8. The guitar looks good, but am wondering if the original factory finish has been stripped off by its previous owners? It's also a bummer that that the OHSC isn't included in the sale as the guitar is a neck through and it only has a gig bag. If it had the 5 way switch instead of the 3 mini switches for the pickups and have the original finish on it, I would buy it. It's a bummer when people mod guitars like this and then try to sell it.
  9. Too band that bass got mutilated. Isn't that a Firebird style or Standard bass? It would have been worth a lot of money if it was left unaltered as they're kind of rare. Would it be worth money if it was restored to original condition or would it considered a basket case as is?
  10. On my Reverend Goblin 5/15 watt and Kingsnake 1x12 combo amps, I use the tube driven reverb on my combo amps. For my other amps that doesn't have reverb, I have an old Boss RV-2 reverb pedal that I will use for this purpose. I haven't used it in awhile.
  11. Cool guitar rig! I would use the effects loop for the chorus/delay/reverb type effects and the whole thing with 4 cable method (4CM). I'm currently using a Reverend Kingsnake 20/60 watt 1x12 combo amp loaded with a Celestion G12-65 speaker as my clean pedal platform. I love the sound of the amp, didn't cost as much as the boutique amps, like the 4 band EQ/effects loop/tube reverb/Schizo voicing switch. It originally had a Jensen Neo 12-100 100 watt speaker in it. It has a tight sound, can handle the wattage of the amp, but it's bright & clear for me. I wanted a more British sound, a darker tone to work with, and make the amp sound good when I set it just before making it breakup. The Celestion G12-65 speaker does it for me.
  12. I've been eyeballing a Suhr Bella Reverb 1x12 combo amp. How does it sound with your pedalboard?
  13. Your guitar is more rare, custom made, and is worth more money than mine. Thank you for the kind words and offering me the trade for your guitar, but I'm happy with what I have at the moment. I will probably kick myself in the rear for not going for this trade.
  14. The VHT (aka Fryette) Valvulator I tube buffer/power supply is no longer made, but can be found used. It has a dual purpose. With the analog pedalboard that has the effect pedals, I run my guitar into the Korg DT-10 pedal tuner for the buffer, my guitar signal goes through all of the pedals, and then it goes into the Valvulator I tube buffer and out into the amp's input. I hit the amp's input with a 12AX7 tube buffer. You can have pedals that are non true bypass/tone suckers with long cables and the Valvulator I tube buffer restores your guitar signal as if you're running into the front of the amp. It also supplies power to all of the effect pedals on the pedal board. I'm going to have a friend help me redo the DC cabling on the pedal board as 3 of the DC output jack on the Valvulator i tube buffer/power supply supplies 9V @80mA and a single 12 volt output @80mA. That means with a custom DC cable with 2.1mm DC jacks, I can run a string of pedals that use 80mA. On the Fractal Audio FX-8/Shure GLXD-16 wireless pedalboard, I run the output of the wireless into the VHT (Fryette) Valvulator I tube buffer, then into the Fractal Audio FX-8 input jack. I use it solely for the tube buffer. The VHT (Fryette) Valvulator I tube buffer/ power supply is the secret weapon on my pedal board. I love what it does for my guitar sound!
  15. Awesome guitar! I know that you bought a red Special with P-90 pickups a few months back. I'm surprised that you want to sell this guitar. If it was mine, I would keep it. Good luck with the sale!
  16. I understand your frustration about audio cables, DC power, and having the ability to program combinations of pedals and changing their setting via MIDI. I went with a Boss GT-3 floor processor(sold it, analog overdrive & distortion, should of kept it), Zoom 9.2tt floor effects processor (easy to program, decent sounds, noisy when using its loop), and now the Fractal Audio FX-8 floor processor. That being said, I just built this analog pedalboard with the pedals that I had sitting for years inside a wooden wine box a few weeks ago. I wanted a smaller pedalboard that was bonehead simple to use and lighter than the Fractal Audio FX-8/Shure GLXD-16 wireless system mounted on the Pedaltrain Pro pedalboard. I need to upgrade the DC wiring, add a couple more effect pedals, and better audio patch cables. Both of my pedalboards works great with my Reverend Goblin 5/15 watt 1x12 combo amp which I use as a clean pedal platform and rehearsal/backup amp
  17. If I didn't own enough super Strat guitars already including my Chapparal Elite 90 & Diablo II guitars, I'm local and would buy that.
  18. Happy New Guitar Day, mang! As much as I liked that guitar, I could never jibe with the 2 toggle switches set up.
  19. I bought a used very mint '81 Ibanez Destroyer II with a cherry finish from a friend's roommate in Foster City, CA in the early '80s. I regret trading that guitar at Guitar Center for a 1996 Gibson Les Paul Custom that I wanted. I never knew that guitar would become a desired collector's guitar or was of high value. 😞
  20. I play rhythm guitar in an AC/DC tribute. I already own a '93 Hamer Special with Mojotone Hot Quiet Coil pickups installed and an '97 Artist Custom with Dimarzio 36th Anniversary pickups. I'm happy with the sound of the '93 Special so no pickup change. I like the semi-hollow tone of the Artist Custom, but was contemplating what that guitar would sound like with a set of TV Jones Filtertron or Power 'Tron pickups in place of the Dimarzio 36th Anniversary pickups that is currently installed on the guitar. Has anyone done this to their Artist Custom or Newport semi-hollow guitars? If so, how did it turn out and how does it sound? Or should I just buy a Gretsch Malcolm Young model guitar?
  21. What's up with the guitar on the right with the extra knob & mini toggle switch?
  22. If I didn't own the Artist Custom that I have now, I would want that guitar for my collection. Good luck with your sale!
  23. That store has a few more Hamer guitars in their inventory, but as usual, their prices are rather high: https://thunderroadguitars.com/store/category/Electrics/Hamer https://thunderroadguitars.com/store/1990-hamer-californian-elite-holoskull-graphics
  24. @scottcald: I'm glad that you enjoyed the video of Eddie Martinez. I honestly believe Mason is a talented pedal builder, but is dishonest in his marketing. The whole scandal with the Vertex Axis wah pedal/BBE Ben Wah pedal, the request to discontinue production of the Vertex Landau Boost & Vertex Landau chorus pedals, and not endorsing the Vertex pedals concerning MIke Landau is an example. Mike Landau's open letter regarding Vertex. Have I played or owned any of the Vertex effects pedals or amp? I have not nor am I interested in wanting to try his pedals or amp either. I have enough guitars/effects/amps to use & enjoy at home. I only visit the local Guitar Center to purchase expendable items that I need and don't fiddle around with guitars/effects/amps when I visit. If you like the Vertex effect pedals or his amp, enjoy using it. BTW, I live in the northern California East Bay where Mason lives and encountered Mason when he sold my friend a Marshall 8008 Valvestate power amp advertised on Craig's List. Since I gave my friend a ride to pick up the power amp, I drove to Mason's residence in Oakland, CA. Mason comes outside to meet my friend wearing a hoodie jacket with the hoodie on since I was sitting in the car. I thought that it was unusual for someone to do that for a sale transaction since it was not windy, cold, or raining. My friend bought the amp, and took it home. My friend tested the power amp. The power amp malfunctioned, over heated, and lost volume output. My friend is unhappy about the power amp dying out, contacts Mason and explains the situation. I drove my friend back to Mason's place in Oakland, my friend dropped off the non working power amp, and got a refund. The fact that he tried to sell off a power amp that was barely working to my friend shows what kind of person Mason is.
