I'm selling a really nice sounding Blues Pearl Tweed amp. Build date is 2/2002 but the amp is in pristine shape.

Blues Pearl amps have been out of production for several years now. My understanding is that the tweeds in particular were very well received (and pretty expensive).

I'm told this model was called the "55". It runs on two 6V6 power tubes and puts out about 20 watts. It has four inputs (two bright, two normal), two volumes, treble, bass, and presence controls. Also on top are power, standby, and ground controls.

Speakers are Jensen P10Rs (http://www.usspeaker.com/jensen%20p10R-1.htm) and sound really good.

I just had Jimmy Somma of Sommatone fame give the amp a full checkup. Rectifier tube is brand new as is one preamp tube.

Jimmy described the amp as 1/2 5e3, 1/4 vintage Bassman, 1/4 vintage Bandmaster. It gets the traditional tweed sound in spades and a great rock grind when cranked.

It's light (I'm guessing 33 lbs) and the leather handle has lots of life.

I'm selling as part of an effort to downsize. Had the Quidley up for sale but no takers so it's off the market and this is on.

Blues Pearl Amps: I had two Texas Tornado -s and wish I had not sold them. One had snakeskin covering and another had the blue diamond cover. The "Kelce Custom" text on the label refers to a music store in St. Louis, I think, that used to order a batch of amps from Hudson from time to time.

If your deal falls through, are you interested in a trade? I have a Dr Z Carmen Ghia 1x12 worth about a grand. Very nice condition. Or if anybody else is interested in the "Z," maybe we could do a three way trade, NBA-style.
