copper blue Posted March 9, 2005 Author Posted March 9, 2005 okay here's the thing...I was never much of a Strat person before..I lean towards the Tele/Les Paul crowd..but last year I fell in love with the Robert Cray strat that I played at Motor City Guitars. Perfect neck, good weight..The weight is important to me cos I've been having issues with my shoulder hurting after toting the Epi Les Paul I have..which incidently is back for sale/trade. I have the widest strap I could find and it helps, but not enough...so I thought I would trade the Les Paul for a Strat..bridge doesnt really matter to me...any color but red or white..I like the MIM reissues Fender puts out( in order: 60s, 50s, 70s..)I've also looked at the Jagstang..it's a shorter scale, but the enck was perfect..it however was a bit on the weighty side as well...something like that I guess!
Guest galejt Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Damn. Mine's fiesta red. Looks like a whore's bedroom it does, doesn't it my sweetie, my precioussss, yesums, that's right, come to daddy....Nosmo King
hudpucker Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Motor City Guitars, huh?I'm in your area and I'd say maybe take a drive to Elderly--they usually have a decent amount of strats in stock. Huber & Breese usually has a good amount, too.If weight is that much of an issue, you may want to consider a hardtail strat (like the Cray) or maybe even a tele. Those strat trem blocks do add a noticeable amount to the total weight, IMO.Sorry if I'm giving you obvious suggestions.
copper blue Posted March 9, 2005 Author Posted March 9, 2005 Nah it's all good...I'm from Flint, but I work in Novi..It's only about 30 minutes to MC Guitars from home...I kind of go by it on my way home (Telegraph to Dixie..)Anyways...what I'm trying to do is unload the LP and buy a Strat or Tele..of course thats the obvious part!I'm not afraid of MIM Fenders as I've played a fair share that were very nice..some dogs in there too...for some reason the maple board MIMs tend to have more of a "cheap" feel to them..not that I mind a cheap feel once in a while.. ; )
