billhart22 Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 How much might one of these be worth, in your eyes?? Pretty darn good condition. Thanks,Bill
kurtsstuff Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Personally...I avoid anything that has Marshall and the number 900 in the model name but....Thats just me??
billhart22 Posted August 18, 2005 Author Posted August 18, 2005 Why would that be? Maybe you can give me some education...I appreciate it...Bill
Turdus Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 There are a few different models. The very early ones were dual master volumes, no reverb. Then they went to the channel switchers with reverb. Mine have all been the earlier ones. To me, these do not sound as "alive" as the JCM800's, or JMP MV heads. Something was missing. Compressed and a slight bit muffled come to mind. What is the model number you are inquiring about?
MCChris Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 I'll say around $400-$500. The JCM900s don't sound like anything special on their own, but they really seem to work in a full band situation miced through a PA. Like most Marshalls, they sit perfectly in a rock'n'roll mix. I'd be concerned, though, about getting a 100-watt version loud enough to where you can get some power-tube balls out of it.For a time I was using a 50-watt JCM900 Dual Reverb 2x12 combo on stage for leads A/Bd with a Soldano HR50 for rhythm. That setup really made solos leap to the forefront.
