My Line6 XT Live developed a pretty massive hum in the left mono out, just like you get when you short a 1/4 inch TS end with your thumb. Plug in a cable, get a ton of hum. Change cables, no difference.
So I took out all the screws and peeled the bottom off. Thy have an interesting way of stiffening the structure...but I digress...
Looking at the output jacks... Left (broken), right (works), and headphone (works) are all those cheesy nylon bodied barrel type jacks with the three pairs of "legs". The board is right up against them, so I can see s#$t about how the jacks are actuall connected, or what they are mounted to.
Gentle wiggling gets me no results at all. I have busted enough things to know not to force something unless a knowledgeable person tells me that's the way it must be done.
So here I am. Stuck.
How do I get that cheezy POS output jack out of there and replaced? Has anybody done something like this.
BTW Pro West Audio is the local Line6 fix it joint. They do a great job: at $80 an hour. No way Jose'.
BTW the Line6 users forum used to have this kind of info, but it's been "improved" so as to have only topics likely to produce pro-company postings. BAH!
