MTM105 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 What is the history of the Hamer Special neck scale??Is it an absolutely original scale? Why is it popular? I've been playing mine for over 18 years and occasionally I become rather addicted to it, other times I look at it with a little discouragement because the fret space is rather tiny.Is it considered a fast neck?Is it an exact replication of Les Paul cutaway?
MTM105 Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 One day has elapsed and no reply.....I thought that this question was pretty much common knowlege for you Hamer affectianatos.
silentman Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 All hamer specials have a 24 3/4 scale length. When Hamer first designed their guitars, they were heavily influenced by gibson. They designed them 'modern vintage' taking the best of the design and adding their own touches like the sustain block.
MTM105 Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Is the neck identical to LP cutaway? I would think so.It's not the same scale as a LP, is it?
silentman Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Same scale as an LP. Not sure what you mean by neck being the same. You mean neck carve? Radius?
