New pups. Need electronics suggestions

Just purchased a new set of pups for my Ernie Ball Silhouette. I went with an Air Norton/HS2/Steve's Special combination. I still need to purchase electronics and I could use some help.

1. what's the difference between 500k and 250k pots

2. what's the difference between varying microFarad capacitors

3. is wire gauge/type important

3. any recommended brands for the electronics listed above

I recently posted requesting a Diablo II wiring diagram. I'd like to copy the Diablo's setup for my Silo. I really like the push/pull volume pot and the sound of the flipped Air Norton... very muddy. Is this a possibility for my Silo? Any help, suggestions, or a point in the right direction would be appreciated.
