  1. Very nice, and one of my favorite Beatles/Harrison song.
  2. The one last year was a 2 chord vamp... Em7 A7. I'll be up for any kind of simple vamp (or simple song), something I can learn when I get up on stage. Yeah I know, I'm lazy. Plus I think it's fun when you just learn/fake it on the spot and see how it goes. It's a jam.
  3. That is very cool! Congrats!
  4. I was in a band that played some funky stuff so I played a lot E9. Plus it sounded better than BouncyC.
  5. Get well soon Brooks
  6. I'm in the area, so no excuse not to be there.
  7. +1 on Seagulls/La Patrie, but as far as I know, LaPatrie only makes classicals, so that probably won't help given you are looking for steel strings. Simon and Patrick is also worth looking at. Seagull and Simon and Patrick make folk and parlor sized guitars. I actually wouldn't mind having one of their parlor sized guitars.
  8. Happy B-day!
  9. If you use one those see-thru pickguards, like the ones use on paisley teles, it won't affect tone at all. It will produce the most transparent sound.
  10. I voted for Kramer. My 1st really good guitar was a white Kramer Pacer with Floyd. Later I got an Ibanez. Does a PRS EG count as a super strat? That became my #1 for many years.
  11. I was in NYC for a day a couple of Fridays ago. It was my 1st time in NYC. I did the regular tourist thing with the boat tour...a 3 hour tour. It was good relaxing way to see the city. If you do the tour, make sure you find a seat on the left side of the boat. Also did the 42nd street, broadway, had dinner at Oyster Bar at Grand Central. Went up the Empire State and got stuck on the 80th floor on the way down. The elevator power was out or something, so noboby could go down. I think we were inline for an hour before we got down. The news people were interviewing people when we finally got out of the building.
  12. Is that a Falcon? I still think those early Washburns are a little under-rated... It's a canary yellow Washburn Raven. Still have it.
  13. I think this one is '84 or '85. Our drummer had his own darkroom and he blurred my left hand when he developed the picture, so it looks like I'm playing fast. Yup, before photoshop. And no that is not a keyboard tie.
  14. Yes, anyone can attend, and a homebrew would be great! Right now we're going back and forth between Saturday August 16 and Saturday August 23 at Superior Street Studios in Chicago. We'll pick one of those two dates for sure by the end of the week. Link to the facility: http://www.superiorst.com Cool! those days are good for me. Aug 9th is the only bad one. edited to add... BTW, I used to practice there with my old band. Nice place.
  15. When and where is the amp fest? I'm not a member of those forums. Can anyone go? Can I bring my homemade amp?
  16. I have a muy grande on the bridge of my tele. It's nice and fat and still maintains the tele sound...got rid of the ice pick. I will probably eventually replace the neck pup with a Tall Boy. On my G&L Legacy, I have the Muy Grande neck and middle and Stelly on the bridge. I was hoping the Stelly will give the Muy Grande tele sound on my G&L. It didn't. The neck and middle is nice and fat, maybe a little too much at times. It was great when I first got it, but after a while I'm thinking Tall boy might have been a better neck and middle choice. On my PRS EG I have the Tall Boys on the neck and middle. Sounds great! But I have yet to find the right bridge humbucker to go with the Tallboys. -FunkyE9th
  17. Yes, definitely pics and clips. I'm working on my 1st amp build, so I'm very interested in your build.
  18. That above video is the 1st time I've seen/heard a Trainwreck. It's amazing the range of sound you can get out of it without any pedals. Jangly to overdrive with just hands, guitar and amp. I read an interview where in Ken Fischer said he sold the 1st one (Ginger) for $650 to a guy playing John Lennon in Beatlemania and how doesn't like how the prices has gone up coz now real players can't afford it anymore. The amps are now just sitting in someone's house not being played. He also mentioned that he sold an amp to a musician for $5000 less when he had a lawyer who was willing to pay $5000 more. Very cool amp, but way too expensive for me.
  19. Sorry for your loss.
  20. Happy B-day. Sorry I'm a day late.
