savethematches Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Outlaw country for me all the way. My last band considered itself 21st century outlaw. Big fat Waylon grooves with some metal guitar on top. Here's a link. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/writePage....ve=shotgunalley Most of the new country just plain sucks. My sig line would apply for Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney for sure. Keith Urban kicks some serious ass though. Check out his debut with his old band, The Ranch. "Ghost in this Guitar" will give you chills. I also like Big & Rich. They're doing a good job of flipping the bird at the Nashville establishment.
Guest cruster Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Man, I think Kenny Chesney is trying to damned hard to be the next Jimmy Buffett. Or something. And speaking of the man, what's the deal with all these pop-country videos with Jimmy Buffett in them? Weird. As far as Big & Rich, I thought the video with the RealDoll in the back of the Caddy was funny, but they sound like white wannabe rappers singing over bad 80s rock with slide guitar and mandolin thrown in. Seems to be working for them, though.
