bobbymack Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 This is a great playing and sounding Strat, with some real nice upgrades and custom features and a cool vintage vibe... The pic was taken in very bright sunlight, the actual color is Antique White which as you know is more yellowish / vanilla ice creamy in appearance... The body is a lightweight, very resonant alder '57 RI, made in Japan I believe. It has some dings and dents, but nothing major. The aged mint green pickguard and knobs wired with Suhr V60 Low Peak pickups was made by Acme Guitarworks. The trem is a new Fender vintage style, and the tuners are locking Sperzels in shiny chrome. The neck is a USA Custom '54 carve (.850" Soft V going to a C with a .090"+ taper, 7.5" to 9.5" compound radius), with a dark Brazilian Rosewood board, Dunlop 6105 frets, and a pro setup including bone nut and fret dress. The neck pocket is super tight, and the neck is VERY stable. Finished with Reranch vintage yellow tinted Nitro lacquer, the F*nder decals are not super-profesionally installed upon close inspection... I just am not a Strat / single coil player (sacrilege, I know)...the middle pickup and the 5 way switch interfere with my playing (guess I'm a hack), and the pickup output difference from my Les Pauls is too much of a hassle to deal with for switching guitars mid gig. Plus, I still have to raise some cash to offset my surprise new vehicle purchase from a month or so ago... More pics available on request. I've had numerous compliments on the looks and tone of this guitar on the few occasions I've gigged it. It plays and sounds better than most new Strats, has upgraded hardware and pickups, and looks way cooler, for about the same money. $850 shipped with gig bag double boxed in lower 48. Paypal is okay. Thanks edited to add radius and trade info...really need to raise cash but I'd swap this and some cash for a nice McCarty Goldtop (non Soapbar). Also would work something out tradewise for a tweed or blonde Fender Blues Jr...
