RRHamer Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Right now I have a couple of the Marshall 1959 SLP reissues. I have heard that by changing the capacitors that it cuts down on the treble. My amps do seem to have a lot of treble. SoZo has capacitors. I have also seen a company Metropoulos that makes a handwired circuit board I guess that could be put in my amps. I am really waiting to see the new Marshall Handwired 1959, but they are going to be expensive and I am wanting to look into possible mods for my amps even if I wind up getting one of the HandWired amps.Anyone have any experience with this?
Brewmaster Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 There are a bunch of companies that do mods. Most of them swap resistors to different values that beef up the tone. I am aware of the swap of the input resistor that beefs up the tone but that is the extent of my knowledge. Voodoo labs and Splawn do mods. http://www.voodooamps.com/ampswemod.html#MARSHALL http://www.splawnguitars.com/ampmod.htm Check some info here as well: http://www.tone-lizard.com/
