Daddy Mojo - Cigar Box Guitar - Four String - Relic

This is a 2008 Daddy Mojo early resonator type four string, cigar box guitar (an older model version no longer made) with piezo pickup. It has a maple neck and I think the box is mahogany - I haven't looked at it closely to be sure. Action is fairly high, but easy to manage with a slide or not. I found this incredible, old tweed case for sale and was told this case is an old "Lifton", tweed violin case that was aged genuinely and naturally (unmodified). I was also told is quite hard to find in tweed - it was not a cheap acquisition for this project, well nothing was for that matter. The cbg fits flawlessly in this case - they are a perfect match.

Lenny P., who is the owner of Daddy Mojo (a great guy), agreed to relic this one for me. It was the first relicing of any type they had done on a cbg - period. It took a few months longer as was definitely an upcharge. They've only reliced a few other six string cbg's since then - no other four strings. Since this was their first relicing job of any type, this cbg slipped out of their shop with no serial number on it anywhere - they also forgot to put this build in their SN log book. Lenny said the build spec email dates place it is somewhere in the late 500's to early 600's for a DM serial number - if that matters to you. Their SN's are in the thousands now. Check their website, Lenny P. and his crew have evolved into very talented guitar builders now who make impressive six string pieces.

This is a blast to play and makes an authentic, bluesy, very guttural and dirty sound that is unique to cbg's and is just awesome. A truly one of a kind cbg with badass tweed case and glass slide - for $550 with shipping covered by buyer.
