I have a Monaco Elite that I have changed pick ups in many times and also rewired many guitars. A couple of years ago, the pick ups started shorting in and out. I checked all wiring, soldering and replaced typical culprits such as the jack (thought that was it as when I moved it it cut in and out) and the switch but nothing has worked. I'm convinced now that it is some type of grounding or shielding issue.
Do Monaco Elites have some weird grounding or very heavy shielding that maybe I have a wire touching? I know the cavity is pretty small, and I've made sure that the wires aren't touching the side. Also, I recently found an old schematic for a Monaco and it says "use shrink tubing on the L-Toggle connections to avoid contacting the ground point". I'm not sure if I did this when I put in the new switch. Maybe that is the issue? Any help would be appreciated, and I am attaching the schematic I found.
