BadgerDave Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Black Cherry metallic sparkle finish. Fatback neck profile: 1.00" 1st - 12th frets nicely rounded with rolled edges. Gibson scale mahogany neck with IIRC striped ebony fretboard. jumbo frets, no visible wear, polished. Mahogany body 6lb. 15 oz. Pickups are a Lollar NOVEL 90 and a Duncan SH-14 Custom w/ a push/pull coil split at tone control Big, comfortable belly and forearm contours Neck side truss rod adjustment vintage style staggered tuners (no string trees needed). NOTE: there is a chip at the high E tuner post that was "repaired" with black lacquer - see photo Hipshot fixed bridge The finish looks black, but is actually a dark black cherry sparkle. The guitar sounds great, is well set-up and punches above its weight (price, actually). There are light scratches , swirl marks and a few small nicks that don't show well in the photos. They might buff out if you have a buffing wheel, but don't expect pristine. I don't really know much about the San Dimas era, but this guitar reminds me of the "dinky" hot rod guitars that Charvel and Jackson were making in the 80's, so I co-opted the phrase to catch your attention. I think it accurately conveys the style. $700.00 with free shipping in the U.S. Sorry, no case. Open to meetup to hand-off in Western Chicago to Madison, WI area.
