  1. All Hamers sold, Mira traded. As for Clay, trust me, bro . . . don't ever buy a black guitar.
  2. Morris Davis has my old black Special. I sold three of them last week because I decided the neck was too small for me. Keeping the Eclipses, Special FM, Studio and three imports.
  3. Black Hamer and the PRS is all thatz left . . .
  4. haha, it's a sign you need to scrounge together a few more bucks and invest in a fine unmolested Special . . .
  5. Red Special sold to bloozguy, thank you sir, and thank you for the Eclipse of a few months back . . .
  6. Oh, and I've never done any deals on this board, but this being the Hamer board, it's just the place for Hamers, right? Plenty of deals on HC under "Chairborne," a few deals on TGP under "SUBmariner," and 155 or so, 100 percent on eBay under "axmaestro." Thanks for looking, any questions probably email is best: [email protected]
  7. Finally, a PRS Mira. Bought on a whim, but PRS, even the less gaudy ones like this one, just aren't my thing. No dings, except there might be a tiny bit of wear on the bass-side headstock point, which I tried to photograph. The pickguard has a bit of minor hazing. Standard neck, as opposed to "wide-thin."
  8. EDIT - RED HAMER SOLD TO BLOOZGUY, TV YELLOW HAMER SOLD ON TGP - THANK YOU GENTLEMEN.
  9. For your consideration - TWO nifty guitars. Two sold, thank you. ONE Hamer Special. $575, shipped and insured UPS, CONUS. Comes in a nice hard, but non-Hamer marked case. A PRS Mira, $1,200, same. The PRS is in a PRS-marked HSC. First is the TV yellow Hamer. 1990s standard stuff here, a fairly small and thin neck, Duncan P90s. No issues. No dings. It is pretty darn pristine in my opinion, but I will let the pics do the talking. EDIT - TV YELLOW SOLD! Next up is the TV yellow's glossy black brother. Pretty much the same story, except black . . . showing off every speck of dust.
  10. Can't stand 'em. The over-emoting singer is obnoxious and the songs are unimaginative drivel. But . . . when the band I sit in with on bass now and again plays their stuff the drunken bar people dig it. Another benefit - if you have to learn a Nickelback song you can generally have the entire thing down before you have heard it the first time all the way through.
  11. Did someone say "ugly headstock?" In a world of Epiphone, PRS and Dean, there is nothing wrong with the Hamer headstock. Oh, and Freddie Mercury and Bob Mould probably know - or knew - a little bit about rock 'n' roll too.
  12. My drummer (hey give him a break - he's a drummer) is always happiest when I show up for the gig with a Gibson Les Paul. The first time I brought a Hamer to practice, he's going, "Hamer? What's that? Who plays those?" Well, me - for one.
  13. Actually he didn't. Granted, they are close but... SUBmariner and Submariner85 are different names. I sent a message to Chris seeking a change to "Hamerweizen." 'Tain't taken. I checked.
  14. Not true, since I have never heard of you . . . but since you have 1936 posts I will yield the name to you. My name is for my MusicMan SUB bass, and I detest the Bengals. And, I am SUBmariner on TGP. Now how do I go about changing my username without going through the arduous registration process? How should I pick a new name? A contest? "Subhunter?" "Destroyer?" "ASROC?" Nawww . . .
  15. My first post, since the Powers that Be finally let me through the door . . . 1. I love Hamers and have six MIA, two MIK and one MIC. 2. They should never have put the name "Slammer" on anything. Around here, a "slammer" is an IV drug abuser. What kind of name is that for a guitar? 3. If you are going to go with another name such as Slammer for the import line, leave that other name as the name for the import line. See, e.g. Gibson and Epiphone. Now they stick the Hamer name on everything, all the way down to my MIC Hamer. You are diluting the brand by doing that. It's like if Ferrari started making economy cars in Korea - a lot of people would be less enamored of their high-dollar Italian stuff. 4. I would never buy a new Hamer because they cost too much compared to a used very nice Hamer. All my Hamers were used when I got them. One was a basket, the others were all acquired in used, very nice condition.
