  1. Happy Fourth of July to all - regardless of your politics, your "leftness" or "rightness." I hope you all have a safe and happy one (even you non-American guys out there). May you all eat all the charred cholestorol, drink all the beer and blow up however much fireworks it takes to make you happy. Then, let's all of us EVERYWHERE have a peaceful year.
  2. Laura's '81 Special was decapitated once. She would not have even bid on it if it didn't say in the description that the head stock repair was done by BCRGreg. It is a truly masterful job. Brooks can tell you. It is one of many of our Hamers he drooled on last week (and that was b4 he got drunk - well really drunk anyway). I can't believe this guy on e-bay used the word "professional" for that repair. It looks like it was done by a blind guy wearing mittens compaerd to Laura's.
  3. here are 2 guitarists w/too much time on their hands. (Unlike me - suddenly w/ too much time on one hand). simpsons unplugged http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVUIztIw0kw Late Night with Conan O'Brien Theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7at85m4k9Z4
  4. Happy New Year to all of you from me and Laura. May 2006 bring you all your dreams and none of your nightmares. No new Hamers for us in '05. I hardly ever touch my basses (Chap and 2nd generation Cruise w/Gotoh bridge) and she really hardly ever plays any of hers besides "The Laura Press Model" 6 string Duotone anyway (and no none of the others are for sale). Besideds, I am still recovering from that last custom order ("The Ultimate 12 Duotone" as someone here called it). I am sure most of you have seen this, but I will put this link up anyway. I love this clip. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch.php?v=tm7DDGkbXYU&search=guita
  5. There is nothing "Trekkie" or comic book convention about this. This is about a bunch of musicians who know each other for years, many of whom have actually become good friends, wanting to hang out and party and play in CT in OCT just like they (we) have for years now. There is always some kind of post here about virtual friends here hanging out in the real world. Last week Laura and I were at Mr. and Mrs. BillyBob's (HamerBass Head's) house for a BBQ. This Tuesday he will likely come to Laura's gig. As will Craig, Tommy Williams and maybe Buzzy Frets. Since it is on L.I. and she is opening for Adrian Belew I wouldn't be surprised if others turned out. I seriously doubt the Trekkies go to each others gigs and have BBQ's that yield visits from the cops after midnight on a regular basis.
  6. That sounds like a great idea Bill. Laura and I would definitely be interested in something like that. Maybe if we get enough people together we could get Jol to come in and do his road show. And it would be WAY cool if Jol and Frank U. joined us for the jam. I can't believe so few people responded positively to this thread. Can it be that some of our bretheren would only go if there was a chance to win a guitar?
  7. WOW!!!! Those are some amazing Standards. I know this is run of the mill (if there is such a thing with a Hamer USA Standard), but here is Laura's. That is if you can add a photo like you could on the old board. If not, here is link to Laura's. The guitar is not here so I can't see the serial number to tell you the year, but I am pretty sure it is late '90's. http://www.hamerfanclub.com/memberpages/la...tandard4web.jpg Edited to add: NEWBIE!?! Yeah, I am a newbie since HFC2 (1998?).
