  1. A few years ago I bought a used 98 Duotone Custom from BCRGreg. I wanted different pups as I wanted to differentiate the Duotone form my Archtop Custom even more. Greg recommend the Rio Genunie Texas HB and installed them for me. I am very happy with the results. Very clear sounding, drives a Fender Vibroverb very nicely. Using the vol/tone control I can get the neck pup to go from mellow jazz to ringing blues tones. The bridge pup has plenty of bite without being harsh, I can use the volume to control the overdrive. I when he installed the pups he used the stock pots I do not know if he changed the tone cap. Anyway I can recommend the Rio Geninune Texas for a Dutone, in my case a duotone custom not the three holer. They do pick up pretty much every nuance of your playing so I will say they do not hide much.
  2. The Brian Setzer Orchestra I would think most demographics would enjoy
  3. You should certainly be able to find a good Martin in that price range. I would definately recommend playing a few, not buying sound unheard from the web. A couple of years ago a purchaced a new Gibson J-45 (workinghorse). Two years ago it was in the middle of your price range, don't know about now. It has a great sound, loud and fairly even across the strings. It does not have the big bass boom of the Martins, which you may or may not like. Playability is excellent and I have had absolutely zero problems. I did have a Taylor years ago and had problems with it, sold it. It was very finicky, had to be tweaked often. Could just have been the one I had, but was enough for me not to get another even though I like their sound and playability.
  4. Atsa my kind of humor
  5. For anyone interested, Junior's Music in Clinton CT still has two in stock http://www.juniorsmusic.com/GMP/GMP.htm
  6. You CT guys ever try Junior's? I have had good experience with him but never bought a Hamer from him I purchased DrZ, Heritage, Reverend and pedals from him. I also go a cheap korean resonator from him I got my Newport and a Mesa amp at the old Ron's location but that is pushing my travel distance.
