Guitars and gear in Taiwan?

My lovely woman will move to Taiwan for a couple of years to represent our government there. I will hopefully be able to visit, and even try to stay there for a little longer period(s) of time. 

I know some guitar brands manufacture their guitars in Taiwan. And that Boss makes their pedals there. What should I look out for when it comes to possible guitar and music gear bargains? Has anyone been to Taipei. Are there any good music stores?

There is Lee Guitars in Taichung, acoustic. Played a few in the shop there a few years ago. A fun high speed train ride from Taipei. Very nice. As far as electric, not sure. You would think there should be some good shops even if not local brands.
