Preference for soldering or spade lugs to speakers? I typically solder wires to the speaker terminals. Over the years, the tinsel wire on my Boogie MS12 became brittle from solder wicking from repeated speaker changes. The slide on terminals would avoid this issue, wondering if reliability is OK.
Any advice on repair is welcome. I can probably get the tinsel wire to stretch to the terminal one one time but think the reliability is questionable. I found a non OEM recone kit but am hesitant. Not sure it is possible to cleanly remove/replace the dust cap to get access to the coil and run a new wire. And would have to carefully cut the cone to get the wire through.
