Guest Buck Dharma Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 NOW FOR SALE = $625 shipped The pickups in this cost $300. 1994 Daytona with Lindy Fralin Vintage Hot pickups. I would like to trade it for a player with humbuckers or P90's. I got this guitar from DavidE recently and it just isn't me. the guitar is very nice and plays and sounds great but I am an overdrive kind of guy. This guitar looks, feels and sounds too pretty for me. I want to trade for a Special or possibly a Californian or Studio. I want an old Special that has character! This Daytona is very vintage sounding with the Lindy Fralins. It has a very pretty clean sound and a nice blues sound. It can also get the SRV Riviera Paradise type stuff perfect. It has a non Hamer Hard shell case that smells like a pack of Marlboros but works well. It has a whammy bar but I don't think it's original. It is in excellent condition other than a ding on the back and a very small amount of Hameritus on the underside edge of the neck, you can't see or feel it while playing. You won't find another one in this shape. I am not interested in shredders so please don't bother unless it's a nice Cali. I would rather trade but will entertain offers to buy that are realistic.
Kurt L Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 What's the weight and neck profile on your Daytona? I might be interested in working a trade, but you'd have to throw in some cash. Interested in a Studio Custom w/P-90s?
Guest Buck Dharma Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 I would say it's a medium profile or maybe a little bigger. I will have to weigh it when I get home. It is heavier than the last strat I had but not real heavy. Every Hamer I have had has been heavier than the norm it seems. I may be interested in the goldtop I'm not sure I will email you the weight tonight.
Guest Buck Dharma Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Man I guess there isn't very many Daytona fans anymore. I can't believe the amount of great guitars for sale here lately. Seems like everyone's selling and nobody buying. I'm starting to think this is a better place to buy but Ebay is the way to go for selling a Hamer.
Guest Buck Dharma Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 What's the weight and neck profile on your Daytona? I might be interested in working a trade, but you'd have to throw in some cash.Interested in a Studio Custom w/P-90s? It's between 6 and 7 lbs. on my trusty bathroom scale. it's a little heavy for a strat shape but every Hamer I have had has been on the heavy side. It's not as heavy as the newer Fenders. My studio deluxe was heavier than my LP.
Guest Buck Dharma Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Bump now that it is for sale for $650 shipped.
Guest Buck Dharma Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Bump for $625 shipped. I'm going to the evilbay tomorrow if this doesn't sell. The pickups and pickguard in this guitar are worth over $300.
Bluesking Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 What the condition of the frets? Do you have the stock pickups? How well do the Fralins handle overdrive? Will you take $350 for it? (Sorry, couldn't resist)
Guest Buck Dharma Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 What the condition of the frets? Do you have the stock pickups? How well do the Fralins handle overdrive? Will you take $350 for it? (Sorry, couldn't resist) The whole guitar is in great condition. The frets are fine. No I don't have the stock pickups but why would you want them if you have Fralins? And no I won't take $350.
Guest galejt Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 I have Fralins in a Strat. The are Callaham winds. They take distortion well, because its all in the amp or the pedal. The pups stay clean and articulate and that get transfered through to the circuit. I prefer it this way as the circuit usually has more controls available besides updowntonenotone.
Guest Buck Dharma Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Last chance! Going to Ebay in two hours.
