Hey man,

I've been considering a Warmoth Barritone neck for my Warmoth Mockingbird, but my band only tunes down one step lower to D ( D to D) and occasionaly C#. Would this be a good idea for those tunings or a waste of money? Also what string size are you using with it? Right now I'm using 11-50's on all my guitars.

Thanks, Scott

Hey Scott. Sorry for the late reply. I don't know that you'd need the baritone neck for those tunings, but it might work. I think it's designed to go down to B but I keep my guitar tuned to C. For strings I'm currently using 10s. It's a little slinky but not bad. Very tight sounding.

The concept works really well. The guitar actually intonates and plays better as a baritone than it did at regular scale length. If you're only tuning down to D and you're using pretty heavy strings, I don't think you'd need the baritone neck.
