Pau Ferro Fingerboards

Anybody know the best way to clean a pau ferro fingerboard (on a T62)?

The wood has darker patches where that commonly played notes are, and I was wondering the best way to get the fingergrease out of the wood and get back to a uniform colour.

Never seen the problem with rosewood as that doesn't seem to be affected by human secretions, but pau ferro is more prone to staining and bleaching.

0000 steel wool wrapped around a magnet(to keep the fur from getting all over the guitar). Apply a small amount of lemon oil and work the steel wood sided to side(along each fret) up the board.

Smells good and cleans well.

Why not "with the grain"?

The wood doesn't care.

I gotta say, I played a Music Man fretless bass once; they use pao ferro for their fretless basses, and I'd say pau ferro feels more like a high density polymer than any wood I've ever encountered.
