Guest JackButler Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Okay stomp box gurus....I'm hearing this sound that I want to try and nail...Its on clean funky parts....to me it sounds like a mix of the vocal "ow" of some kind of wah and some kind of phase or flange..but it doesn't wah like a T-wah would on every note played.I heard something close to this on DT's "Take The Time" in the funky breaks right after the intro...Anyone out there that can help me get this sound out of my head?Sorry if the description is vague.Thanks,Kev

hamersandstrats Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Jack,I dont think I can help you get the sound out of your head, but it sure sounds like you are describing an envelope filter, which is a very cool effect. Boss makes one that really does the "vowel" thing well-but I like more of a synth-wah kind of thind, like the old Mutron III that Jerry Garcia used.Maxon makes a good pedal too-the AF-9, check out the sound clips on theit website.
