sw686blue Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 How does the Eminence Legend GB12 compare to the G12-75? How is it for hard rock and metal? If it's good for that style (think Metallica, Ozzy, Whitesnake), I'll take one of the Emis. Thanks Nick
guitfiddler Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 How does the Eminence Legend GB12 compare to the G12-75? How is it for hard rock and metal? If it's good for that style (think Metallica, Ozzy, Whitesnake), The Legend GB12 is a speaker the Beatles would have loved. It's heavy on the mids, probably best suited (depending on cabinet) today for classic rock, blues, country. It is a very loud speaker (great for use with a low powered amp) as it's efficiency is a huge 101 decibels (SPL,) compared to the Celestion at 97.My sole reason for replacing the GB's is to cut weight in a extremely heavy 2 x 12 Fender combo amp, going to use a pair of Jensen Neo 12's instead.
sw686blue Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 The G12T75 would be perfect in that case but unfortunately my amp has an 8 ohm installed and has input jacks for 4 or 8 ohms. Damn! Thanks Craig. Good luck in your sale.
