Scooter Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 For Trade: A rather rare Washburn USA Custom Shop WMSTD. They made very few of these. It's an obvious shot at a Les Paul combined with a PRS. One piece flamed mahogany back that is angle cut (quartersawn?) in order to enhance sustain. And trust me, it sounds alive! Wild quilted maple top in natural. All Schaller hardware - locking tuners, roller bridge, fine tuning stop bar. Duncan pups (Custom Custom and Jazz iirc). I'd compare the neck to a PRS Wide-Thin combined with a Gibson 60's neck. 24.75" scale length, 1 11/16" at the nut. Each fret is finished flawlessly. Buzz Feiten tuning compensation. The condition is excellent plus. No fret wear, no dents or dings or funny business. I keep my gear immaculate. The blue Custom Shop hardshell case is nice too. These sold for big bucks new. I've only seen one sell on eBay and it only went for $750 plus shipping. Honestly, I can't figure out why these USA Washburns haven't "caught on". They're pretty darn nice! The truth is, the neck is just too thin to fit me comfortably. (You guys who like the mid 90's Hamer necks would dig this.) I'm hoping someone here has something interesting to trade. Guitars (fat-necked), amps (high gain), drums (vintage?), or ??? -Don skuder@execpc.com
Scooter Posted September 27, 2006 Author Posted September 27, 2006 I just took in another guitar (thanks MCChris), so this Washburn will have to go. If you have a trade in mind, let me know asap, otherwise it's off to eBay!
