currypowder Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 For sale is a Rahan .38 special. For those of you unfamiliar with Rick Cantu, owner of Rahan, he hand builds guitars down in Texas. The bodies are hand cut, shaped and finished (no CNC machines). He uses high quality parts and has his necks made to his specifications. This particular guitar is finished in a translucent red, which shows of the grain very nicely. It has Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pickups for that hot blues tone. Wilkinson bridge and Schaller tuners work together to keep the guitar in tune. The neck is what I would describe as a thinnish D shape. It's not shedder thin, but a little thinner than a medium C. It's 1 11/16 wide at the nut and has a fairly flat radius (I'm not exactly sure what radius, but 10 or more). I beleive the fretboard to be ebony, but not completely sure. The body shots below are with a different neck installed (not included). The original neck has been re-installed. The guitar is in very good shape. There is some honest playwear on the back of the neck. Priced to sell at $450 shipped. Includes gigbag.
