santellavision Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Ernie, you're a bad, bad, man.... Oh, here's another nice Anderson of mine. Hamer's and Andersons are my favorites. I do have a Robin on it's way. I may now have 3 favorites. Don't tell the wife.
Jorge Posted November 2, 2006 Author Posted November 2, 2006 Got one, thanks for the GAS inducing pictures! Sunburst in color, but will do.
Guest Meshuggah Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Ahhhh. Anderson Atom. Tone Report Please?
santellavision Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 It seems Andersons have come to be thought of as country guitars. Maybe because he made lots of teles and strat clones back in the beginning. The Atom goes pretty far from that. It's more of a classic R&R guitar. The neck p/u is big and open sounding, not muffled like some HB's can be. The bridge pu cranks like the best HB you ever heard. It's light too, being a chambered Mahogany/maple top. (About 7lbs) The Rosewood neck is satin smooth and rings like a bell. Believe it or not, the Bigsby doesn't suck tone either. They modify their Bigsby's. (Why didn't anybody else think of this?) Most have these stupid little metal dowels that you stick the string end over, then wrap around the bar. Anderson drilled holes and tapered the holes so you can just stick the strings through the back roller! Smart and it makes for a much bettter tone transfer as the strings make more contact with the tailpiece. I was one of their Guitars of the week stories, here's a link. http://www.andersonguitars.com/cfPages/dis...mp;theYear=2006
