tubesrus Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I don't know if there are any hamer fans in houston, they don't seem popular here, but I thought I should mention that I service vintage amps, mostly fender but also amped, gibson, and some odd stuff, pretty much anything hand wired and a few that aren't, such as older ampegs and sinle channell marshells. I don't give low ball estimates, but I work hard for my customers to malke sure the amp sounds good and is reliable.thanks, george
Jimbilly Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I'm from far away, but since it appears you've been into vintage amps for a while... What do you know about Hilgens? I bought a Troubadour model a couple of months ago (it sounds really good btw) and almost zero info is available on them.

I've owned a hundred amps and fixed a few more, but thats one I never heard of. I just recently got a good digital camera, when I did a repair on an old magnetone that was pretty unique I took lots of close ups of the insides, made notes on them, it was a big hepl when i trying to be sure of the layout.
