If you are going to gig with it you'll probably want to mic it, but I've heard you wouldn't necessarily have to, it would depend on your band situation and how much clean headroom you need. I never gigged it (since I haven't gigged in close to 10 years), so I can't tell you first hand if that's what you are wanting it for.

My gigging days (such as they were ) are far behind me I'm just looking for something that can hold it's own in a small-scale jam. A loud 18 watts sounds like plenty. I'll start counting my pennies and get back to you... -Austin

How loud does the 18 watter get?-AustinTo double volume requires a tenfold increase in power. Therefore, a 10 watt amp is half as loud as a 100 watt amp. People always assume a fifty watt amp is half as loud as 100 watter, but that is not accurate.So it would be safe to say an 18 watt amp can produce 2/3 of the volume of a 100 watter.
