Stokesdead Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 One of the instruments I played in school was tuba. We never played anything like that but I did get some cool improve solos in the football pep band. Good stuff as usual Greg. We used to toke in the football stands and blow the smoke into the mouthpiece a few minutes later the smoke would start coming out of the horns mid song. Good times.~CS
straightblues Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 That gave me a college flashback. My first year at USC I got student housing and spent living with a guy who played tuba in the marching band. We got thrown out of student housing because at noises like this at all hours of the day and night. There is bascially no volume control on a tuba. My guitar playing probably didn't help either. LOL!!
Stokesdead Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 There is bascially no volume control on a tuba. Not true. Although it is difficult a well trained horn player can control his volume down to pianissimo. It takes a lot of abdominal strength with a tuba though. I played in the symphonic band as well. ~CS
