hepkat Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Subscribed to GP for over 20 years, I think now out of habit, don't read but about 1/2 of mag...Vintage Guitar is more my speed... Plus it helped that when I read my 3rd issue and posted kudos on their website Willie G. sent me a personal thank you email! Been a subscriber ever since!
alantigold Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Guitar World lost me as a regular when they went tab only. I've used tab, but I want the standard notation, too. Not to mention that they seem to get the shakes if EVH hasn't been on the cover in about five days. Or Zakk Wylde. Just saw the new issue - Vai and Satch on the cover. But they have Vai's 10-hour workout in there. That's only about the fourth or fifth time I've seen that published (and there's a 30-hour version I've seen as well).Alan
elduave Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 All that TAB in mags (to me) is useless. The more TAB, the less likely I'll buy, although I don't really need to buy them anymore...
MTM105 Posted July 28, 2007 Author Posted July 28, 2007 The only thing I honestly look forward to is MoJo magazine from across the pond. The CD's are somewhat remarkable considering you would pay probably a few bucks more for it retail. Had a great Zep issue a while back with one issue featuring Plant's blues influneces (Good Golly Miss Molley) and Page's (Joan Biaz Babe I'm Gonna Leave). It makes me want to cancel my subscripiton to Tiger Beat! It is interesting to see the Brits take on American influences and it just seems endless..... I am so glad Guitar One went broke, they wanted $9.99 per mag.
