  1. I'm mainly an acoustic player. +1 for Breedlove (had an SC25) I play Larrivee myself Also like the new Guilds. But, like Greg said, in that price range lots of great options.
  2. I had a BC RICO in the mid 80's -- Loved that guitar. Traded for a Kramer with a Floyd! so I could be like everyone else on the block.
  3. Subscribed to GP for over 20 years, I think now out of habit, don't read but about 1/2 of mag... Vintage Guitar is more my speed... Plus it helped that when I read my 3rd issue and posted kudos on their website Willie G. sent me a personal thank you email! Been a subscriber ever since!

  5. In 1977 a friend of my sister's gave me a complete collection of Ventures albums Bout a used Jazzmaster (63) and a Princeton Reverb I still have the albums!!! Traded to Jazzmaster for a 69 Strat... Traded the Strat for A Ric 360... etc... A friend of mine still has the Princeton!
  6. I have an 84 Studio 22 and everytime I think of selling it (weekly, cause I rarely ever play electric anymore) I plug it in and change my mind with the first chord!
  7. On Vinyl - The Ventures (all original), Who, Allman Brothers, Yes, Gentle Giant, 70's Elton John CD - Zappa, Rush, Tony Rice, Dave Grisman
  8. I have Jazzmaster Envy.... My First Real Electric was a 63 in Dakota Red. Wish I had the dough
  9. In a small town south of me they have a Cigar Box Guitar Museum, a music store that specializes in custom models, a festival and other things. Here is one of the makers sites: http://www.tomiocbg.com/index2.html I tried one, loads of fun
  10. +1 for the Route 66. I get that same effect, and its one of my favorite things about the Rt 66
  11. Sunburst Jazzmaster on the cover of an old (then) Ventures album that one of my sister's friends left at our house (this was about 1974 and I still have the album along with a bunch more the guy left) When I bought my first real guitar in 78 I got a refinished 63 Jazzmaster for $200 and the guy threw in a Princeton Reverb. I still have the Princeton and traded the Jazzmaster for a 70's Tele Deluxe in about 1988. All those Ventures albums also made me have a fetish for Mosrite guitars, even though I have never owned one.
  12. A local music store recently had an older USA Schecter P Bass for $299. Not having any $$ I passed it on to a bass playing buddy. He had always been a G&L and Music Man player, but tells me the Schecter is every bit as good. FWIW
