Budda Twinmaster combo, '83 PTP Marshall JCM 800 combo

A couple of great amps are up for sale. I'll have pics up later tonight - I can't access Photobucket from work.

Those who would like pics of the Marshall right now, please PM me your email address (before 4PM EST).

1. Budda Twinmaster combo - 1x12, 1997 first-run killer all PTP combo. All stock with the exception of an Eminence Wizard speaker.

Sounds great, but has a little noise when the "gain" channel is cranked. This is by design (per Budda's tech guy, Jeff Bober) and points to the amp's roots in late 60s Marshalls.

It's "only" 18 watts, but it's loud as hell. Plug it into a 2x12 or 4x12 and you won't stop smiling. Old-school Marshall when cranked on the gain channel, very Voxy on the normal channel. Takes pedals very well and built like a tank. The TMs are Budda's best amp in my opinion - very old school with great natural overdrive.

$950 + $35 CONUS shipping.

2. 1983 Marshall JCM 800 combo - here's the details from the guy who did all the work:

50 w Marshall JCM800 1x12 model - SN 14459R.

This is the desirable two vertical input, single channel model. Controls are Preamp volume, Master volume, Treble, Middle, Bass, Presence.

There are major upgrades to this amp.

First, had a ptp board installed with all high end components (Sozo caps!), and had the MV inproved by converting it from a pre PI MV to a post PI MV. It is much more effective now than on a stock JCM 800.

The transformers are the original Drakes (key to the JCM800 sound).

The power supply caps and all pots, jacks, etc were also all replaced when the ptp board was installed.

Also, a bias pot and ports were added to the back of the amp. This is a great feature that allows

very simple rebias and also to change between tubes (just write down the pot settings on the 10 turn dial and just dial in the right bias for the tube set).

Finally, I installed a vintage, early 80’s, all original, 16 ohm Celestion G12-65 in it (these are highly coveted and sound great).

It has Ruby 12ax7’s in the preamp and JJ KT77’s in the power amp right now.

A stock Marshall JCM800 1x12 in good shape will cost you about $900 after shipping. I paid $400 for the ptp board, bias pots, Sozo’s, post PI MV, etc and another $175 for the speaker so value wise this is worth well more than $1400.

This is really the best JCM800 money can buy, and you just CANT get one like this. Sounds amazing.

Also, this is a VERY compact 1x12 package. Its 18” high, 23” wide, 10” deep. A bit smaller than the typical 1x12 combo package. Weight is only around 50 lbs. Given the small package and its weight, it’s a perfect grab and go, but with a very big punch.

I have EL34’s (Ruby) and 6550’s (Tung Sol) for this amp available at additional cost.

$1000 + $35 CONUS shipping.

Details

I'm selling both amps because I just don't play them enough. I've got a 71 Deluxe Reverb that is my all-time fave and the other amps don't get any love.

No trades at this time.

Payment by USPS MO, Paypal, or a personal check if I know you.

Lots of refs here, the Gear Page, and Ebay (Bluesking89).

Please PM with any questions.
