RobB Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Brahs,Duncan JB, Nickel cover from my MirageII $40 shippedDimarzio Super Distortion, zebra neck and bridge from my Dean V $40 each/$80 pair shipped. Or, if anyone has a set of Duncan '59s to trade for the Dimarzios that would be cool. Thanks,
quik Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 What are you switching to, in place of your JBs? (I see you're seeking 59s here, but I don't know if that's one instance or your new fave.) Also, how do you like the Stiletto? I haven't heard much about them yet, but they seem like a good idea.
RobB Posted March 4, 2005 Author Posted March 4, 2005 I removed the '59/JB combo from the MirageII, replaced the switch with Schaller PRS 5-way, and installed a Duncan Custom5 (neck) and Custom Custom (bridge). The PRS switch requires flipping the magnet in the neck pickup. I generally don't get along w/high output p/us, but the Customs sound so good split and really improved the sound of the guitar.Stiletto is the best Marshall that Marshall's never built. The clean channel was the main selling point, it has a lot of headroom. The lead channel smokes, plenty of gain/sustain w/o the Rectifier "haze", and with the mode switch you can get all sorts of different shades. I'm very happy with the amp and would recommend it to anyone wants a Boogie that doesn't sound like a Boogie.
