joshkava Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 On top of the greenie i got what i thought was a reasonably priced 84 phantom.motherbucker in the bridge, singlecoil in the neck. black on black on black on black on black on black.. pretty badass looking.im gonna resore this and the greenie special and probably keep the one i like best and sell the other.. so keep your eyes peeled;)ive never played either if you can believe it but have always wanted a hamer. whichever has the better feeling neck and sound ill keep...any other thoughts on phantoms v. specials anyone would like to share?
tomteriffic Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Careful with the restoration. This coming from a guy who saw a lot of guitars "upgraded" and "hot-rodded" in the 60's through '80s. What they really did was wreck 'em. What that means is check with the guys around here who have a good feel for what the original spec is.Besides, you're going to be sending the Phantom to either Paults or myself.
