belikerick Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Saw it again last night and I have to agree with Thunders, it's gonna be a TIVO show. I was curious about how the song choosing process went, but on the other hand am actually very glad that they concentrated on the performances and reviews. So I guess tonight they'll probalby fill the 1/2 hour with that kind of stuff leading up to who gets the boot. Although I thought the redhead, don't know many names yet, sounded the best I STILL don't see a chick fronting the band and unfortunately I think the guys are weaker singers than the girls on the whole. I thought it was interesting that Ty picked "Heartbreaker" (thought for sure one of the chicks would want it) but he really cranked it out and seems to be the leader in the clubhouse. At this moment in time I'd have to agree with Craig that I can't really see ANY of these people fronting INXS. It's not your normal get-up-and-jump-around-and rock-out kind of band. There was always a sinewy, sexy sort of vibe with Hutchence's singing and that's definitely not in evindence with any of these people. I think they could've done a better job at finding people that might aactually FIT in with the band along with having some talent and desire to be a rocker. I know they're looking for someone to record the new album, but when you go on the road it's still INXS and they've got all those great songs that someone has to sing. BTW, did any of you guys know that Terrence Trent D'Arby did a stint with INXS after Hutchence passed away? Now THAT sounds intriguing
