Replacement neck for Diablo

I'm not to crazy about the the neck on my Diablo. Is it the same neck pocket as a fender? I'm thinkin about ordering a replacement from USACG.

Nope. The Diablo neck is 24 fret, so you can't just put on a Fender neck, even assuming the other pocket dimensions are the same, which I would seriously doubt. Given how cheap (relatively) Diablos are, it might make more sense to sell the one you have and keep an eye out for one with a neck shape more to your liking, assuming there's one out there (most Diablos have thin necks but they vary a bit).

The bolt on neck pockets are the same as a strat...manufacturing deviations excluded but Austin's right, just because they're both 25.5" scale it doesn't mean you can just bolt one on and away you go - i've got a butcher'd Cali here as testament to one mans lunacy (not me i may add). If you do look around for a 24 fret neck the easiest measurement, to give it even half a chance of intonating, is the distance between the nut and the heel of the neck - which on Hamer's is nominally 19". Find a neck with that dimension and a standard strat heel and you stand a reasonable chance of it working out for you....note the use of the word chance !

Maybe I wasnt clear... I realize the Diablo is 24 fret and Fender necks are either 21-22. Are the pockets the same dimensions? My crude measurements say they are damn close...

I'm thinking, if it's the same size USACG can just make me a 24 fret neck with the frets and carve I want...

As i just said, the neck pockets are the same dimension with the Hamers being 3" deep into the body (i don't know how far Fenders go but i'd pressume the same but i'm just pressuming here). If you go to USAGG mention that the nut to heel measurement is 19", if they follow that you should be on the right track. Also i don't know how high Fender necks sit, again Hamers are nominally 20mm heel depth at the end to the board.

Actually, better still, send them the body.

OK Thanks, Looks like the neck pockets are the same on my end too. I have a Strat sitting right next to the Diablo. The neck's are the exact same length up to the 22nd fret. Width, Height, and Depth are all the same. I would hope USACG knows how to make a 24 fret neck for this application.
