So....I've been wondering if there is any rhyme or reason to the angles that the various Hamer doublenecks are set at?
I've had several and played several others as well and there is little uniformity between each.
Sometimes the two necks are dead parrallel to each other (as you look from the tail of the body toward the necks;) sometimes the necks are off parrallel at some angle that never seems the same from one doubleneck to the next.
Then...as you play and look down at the necks, the angle that each sets into the body also varies. Sometimes the two are at the same angle; other times not and it varies which is the more forward one.
So....experts.....How come?
Samples below. The two basically same Cali doublenecks that appear to have parallel necks when you look down the body...but when you look down while playing them, the necks are set at different angles to each other on one and parrallel on the other. Why?
