proxmax Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 can be used, but should be in good shape.it's for the bridge position in the setneck cali.which one you would prefer for hard rock or metal?thxklaus
atquinn Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I had a PATB1 and a PATB2 in my setneck Cali. The PATB1 was IMO, better at everything than the PATB2. I've had a Suhr Aldrich in my Floyded Studio for a pretty long time and it's hard for me to pick between that and the PATB1 (which I've also had in the Studio); the Aldrich is a very open pickup; the PATB1 is more compressed, but both are great under high gain. I think the Aldrich is better at high gain rhythm work and the PATB1 is a bit better at leads. The Aldrich cleans up better than the PATB1; you can get all sorts of sounds by using the volume control (something I never used before getting this pickup ). Now having said that; I have nothing to sell you! - Austin
proxmax Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 Now having said that; I have nothing to sell you! - Austin it is ok, thx for your experience, austin. i'm spoilt by the haeussel pups i use in most of the other guitars. for palm mutes the patb1 is not that clicking and punchy as those. but for the rest i like it much better than the SD tb-4 that was in before. the trebs are more pleasing than at haeussels, but there i hear always more clarity. i'm very glad to have more guitars than only one, so i don't have to decide..... -klaus
proxmax Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 i ordered today a original floyd in black to increase some trebles a bit.as i saw at austin's setneck that the black trem looks very cool.
Bennyboy-UK Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I quite like the tb2 in my maple bodied Cali. And the tb1 in my mahogany bodied one. Haven't switched them though so I can't really comment! Please find above a useless post from me.B
