I've got a '96 Standard with the original case, and the center divider (the one the guitar rests behind) has become somewhat loose from the guitar shifting back and forth in the case. The plush lining is still intact, and the staples that hold the divider are still doing their job--it's just that the divider has become 'wiggly' and I don't want to let it get worse. I'm guessing that the divider has a foam core. I should probably mention that the case is the older type, where it isn't very form fitting inside, lots of empty space in there. Should I take a staple gun to it from the outside to firm up the anchoring, or is there something else that I should do?
Also, I remember a few years ago about a Tolex patch kit in liquid form, with textured 'surfacing' material for recreating particular surfaces on amps and cases. It's kinda like the ads on TV years ago where you could repair vinyl and leather upholstery with some kind of paint-on vinyl stuff--but it's specifically for amps and instrument cases that use Tolex or similar surfacing. Does the Tolex patch kit still exist? I have a few amps and cases where the fabric backing for the Tolex is still intact, but wear and tear has removed the outer Tolex surfacing in small areas, and they could probably use this kit. Thanks in advance!
